Reimer is more like the protective, quiet kind of brother. But it doesn't just apply to me, it applies to all siblings: We would kill each other, but we would kill for each other. In this picture, he's trying to kill me. He failed, but still... ;) Anyways, moving on... again. We, my parents and I, lived in the Netherlands for 9 years and now I live here. In Japan, Asia. Why? Well, let's start from the beginning.
I loved the Netherlands. It's beautiful and my friends are the most amazing people, ever. But, I wanted something different. I wanted to see the world and have the experience of living in a different country again, because my memories of Oman faded away. I asked my dad if I could do high school abroad for 1 year and he said he would think about it. I was pretty sure he would let me, because I'm a master at manipulating my parents, so I knew exactly how to play it. ;) One morning, a casual everyday morning, I was watching tv, eating my cereal and then my dad sat next to me. He asked: "How would you like to go to school in Japan?" When he asked that, I knew I was in, but I didn't quite understand why Japan. He then told me he could get a job in Sakhalin, Russia and because there aren't any international secondary schools there, Japan was the most ideal solution. They wouldn't let me go anywhere else nor let me stay in the Netherlands, because they didn't want me too far away from them. That's the reason I live here, in the dormitory, in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, without parents and I'm loving it. A thing I "waste" my time on is watching movies and tv shows. I can watch all day and night if I didn't have other responsibilites. But even then, sometimes I still do.
I mean, who doesn't, right? Before I knew how awesome tv shows were, I watched about 2 movies every day. I watched while eating, during homework. I'd fall asleep watching a movie. Because there are so many awesome movies out there, I don't really have a favorite. But what I do know, is that I know every line said in the movie Tangled and that I could watch it continuously. Obsessed? Yes. And to be honest, I think horror and Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks/all those producer companies' movies are the best. I think it's art when someone can actually make a good horror movie, like actually good. Nowadays, so many horror movies are so bad, you could consider them comedy. And Disney/Pixar/etc etc are my childhood and they will still be watched by me in my adulthood. Tv shows? Easy. My favorite one is without a doubt: Breaking Bad. The most awesome, exciting, suspenseful tv show ever from beginning till end. And all the tv shows I watch, I love. I never watched a tv show that I disliked or hated. I'm going to name all the tv shows I watched from the most favorite to the least favorite.
Wow, that are a lot of tv shows.. And there are so many more I want to watch. A lot more. |
First of all, It would be nice to know whose online portfolio you're looking on. My site title says it already, but oh well. There's no harm in repeating thy name. My name is Tanita Jamilla Kok. I've lived approximately 15 years, 184 months, 817 weeks and 5720 days on this planet. Pretty amazing, huh? I was born in the Netherlands, but moved straight away to a different continent and that continent is Asia. "But Tanita, if you're from the Netherlands, why are you dark?" Well, that's because my dad is Dutch and my mom is from the Philippines. I guess my mom's genetic game is stronger, than my dad's, which makes me look more like her. Thanks for that question. Moving on! So, I moved to Asia to a country called Oman. We lived there for about 6 years and then moved back to the Netherlands, because my oldest brother was starting high school. Yes, I have brothers. 2 to be exact and their names are Reimer and Sander. I hate them so much, but then again, I would give my life for them. Ahh, tough love. Sander loves to break the rules and I love to do it with him! Bad ass, right? I have so many hobbies and things I love to do, it's crazy. Let's just start with my absolute favorite one. Sport, definitely. I played many sports in the past, all different, and I really liked them all. But then you go to middle school and then high school and then you don't have the time to do all of them, so you're stuck with what adults have to do a lot: making hard decisions. Can you relate? Yeah, you probably can. I don't know if people in Japan categorize dancing under sports, but I do. I chose dancing. I danced pretty much all my life and I couldn't let myself let that go. So, for a while the only thing I did was dancing, 4-5 times a week or so. Then, this moment happened. That moment was one of the best moments, because in that moment I was introduced to a new sport: Tennis.
My brothers played tennis and one day I just went with them to their training and I wanted to do it, too! Now, I've been playing tennis for about 5 years and I still love it as much as I did back then. I even gave up on dancing for it and that's saying something. Even though I miss dancing a lot, I don't regret making the decision to play tennis more. My other hobbies, I'll call them sub-hobbies, are traveling, photography, video making and editing, cooking and baking, reading, writing and drawing. Oh, and let's not forget sleeping and eating! Yeah, those are awesome. I guess now you know quite a lot about me. So, I'm not going to write anything anymore. Now, I'll just list categories with my favorites in each. If you read this, then you've reached the end of ''all about me" and I appreciate you read it all the way. You survived! Congratulations! Now, go get a life. ;)
