Planning sentences:
Characters:
teenage girl;
- Name & Appearance: Ruby, dark-haired, medium skin tone, hazel eyes, - Personality: Very smart, creative, intelligent, philosophical but shy, quiet, introverted, vulnerable and prone to social pressures, unable to handle it, mentally unstable a little bit, delusional. She mostly talks about philosophical things or she always has to bring up pessimistic views about the world. She changes by changing her entire perspective and attitude due to her having to deal with so many conflicts. - Background: grew up in a perfectionistic environment, pressure from parents to perform past her limits → disappointed if she doesn’t
parents;
- Names & Appearances & personality; mom - Stacy, dad - John mom; looks a lot like Ruby, social, but perfectionistic dad; blond, caucasian, brown eyes, hard-working, social, yet stoic and perfectionistic -Background; Mom grew up in a similar environment as Ruby, but the dad grew up in a hard environment where he had to work hard to get to where he got → because of this he developed a perfectionistic personality and way of living and tries to make Ruby the same → hardworking
teacher;
-Name & appearance: Mr. Bryans, tall, skinny, frail, droopy eyes, long ears, short hair, gray hair. - Personality: harsh, extreme, touchy, manipulative, self-centered. He talks in a condescending way. People tend to not like him very much. He has extreme personal issues and he changes a bit when he’s confronted about him sexually harassing Ruby. - Background: He lived without a fatherly figure, physically abused from mother. Because of this, he became a bully in school, leading to him not having any relationships, leading to pedophilic desires. - Problems: Pedophilia, a limited view of his environment.
3 classmates (bullies?)
-Name & appearance:
Silvia(blonde, blue eyes, very fit, cute, typical white girl) she like the stereotypical dumb blonde, yet she’s genuine and nice → she isn’t really a bully, she just a hanger-on;
Sophie(brunette, brown eyes, chubby, okay face); More of a bully. Always exaggerates situations. Talks in a very pretentious and condescending way. People tend to like her less, than Emma.
Emma(african-american, brown eyes, pretty much like kanye west(especially her facial expression) Emma is a legitimate bully, in a girly way. Doesn’t directly attack people, except for Ruby, but goes behind their backs. Talks honestly, but in a contemptuous way.
- Personality:
Silvia;, will become ratchet mode when talking to guys for unknown reason. Actually a good person from inside, but seems to get seduced easily,(probably the reason why she’s with the bullies,*Sophie & Emma*.)
Sophie; She’s vain, lack of common sense
Emma; The smartest one from the group, won’t go to school if she doesn’t look good & etc, will go furious and attack anyone who gets in her way.
-Background:
Silvia- goes to many vacations with her family every holidays, somewhat rich.
Sophie- her mother is a model, her father is an engineer, has no siblings. Insecure about her appearance, because she’s chubby.
Emma- her mother died when she was just 5, her father used to be a drug dealer, now he works in a supermarket. Her troubled past made her prone for a troubled future → Bullying
- Problems: In this case all three have the same problem, with the same person, which is the main character. The three characters don’t change their personality (they remain condescending, pretentious etc) but they do change their attitude towards Ruby at the end
Best Friend?:
-Name & appearance: Bonnie, blond, white skinned, grey eyes, round face, - Personality: Caring, creative, cheerful, yet pushy, self-centered sometimes, hardheaded, pretentious - Background: family isn’t that rich, has an older brother that never played with her, parents too busy working - Problems: argument with Ruby → her hardheadedness is a cause for it. Pretentious, because she wants to fit in (and being friends with Ruby isn’t helping her).

Fantasy world only certain people know trope, modern-day Japan
Internal struggles are anthropomorphised and attack her in the fantasy world. Madoka Magica + Black Rock Shooter + Persona 4 Inciting event: catalyst
Ruby attempted to commit suicide by overdosing herself with sleeping pills but she failed at doing so. Therefore her parents decided for her to go into therapy and try to talk and resolve her issues. The inciting event is basically the conflict explained before the “actual” conflicts begin. Ruby, of course reluctant of going, sits there and escapes in her own little big world of thoughts instead of facing what’s actually there in front of her, which is reality.
Conflicts:
The day after the Inciting Event. Ruby, lying on her bed lifelessly, calls Bonnie, saying she wants to stay home and not go to school that day. Bonnie tries to convince Ruby to change her mind, but Bonnie’s well-intentioned pushiness ironically upsets Ruby, leading her to alienate Bonnie.
Later that same day, Ruby tries to tell her mother what's wrong with her black-and-white world, but due to miscommunication and/or apathy on her mother's part, she ends up more frustrated and/or emotional than before.
Ruby finally decides to go to school, and sees a transfer student. She immediately falls in love, but when he approached her, she ironically pushed him away. She feels strong self-hatred afterward.
Ruby finds a [insert mythological or symbolic messenger here], and upon contact, she falls unconscious on her bed, then awakens in the fantasy world. There she meets a little girl who looked quite like herself in her elementary photos. The girl introduces herself as the guide to the realm of Confligia. The Guide then says only when she combats each enemy and conquers or appeases them she can awaken and return.
(In this fantasy world more conflicts will occur - we have to yet figure out the adversaries and situations)
Climax & Solution:
The climax is when Ruby faces her final and most serious adversary. By doing so she finally realizes what kind of a person she is (who she is) and that life is given to her for a reason; so she could live. She awakens from her fantasy world and goes through life with a different perspective. (she resolves her issues with her parents, the bullies and teacher)
Audience take-away: From this, the reader can understand the extent of how a physically and mentally abused teenager can change, and the feelings that comes with it. It also connects with people with a past of depression, and spreads awareness of it, and how much closed people can become from it, and how different people can resolve themselves from this type of situation, and how it changes the individual.
Perspective: 1st person
(The next will be filled in when all the conflicts are settled.)
